Discussion topic on "Examples of Cognitive tools in Education"

Examples of cognitive tools that I’m familiar with are email, online chat and discussion forum. These are very much underlying on the same concept of communication and exchanging information thru technologies in the form of synchronous or asynchronous transmission. These tools can significantly enrich the learning experience by enhancing the exchange of ideas among all concerned individuals and helping them to make better-informed choices. Rather than having knowledge just came from a single source of direction, these tools could establish a learning platform which allows multiple source of information to be gathered at once in terms of time-saving and cost effective. Another example is search engine. By googling on the web, you could acquire information and relevant knowledge in just minutes. However, you may find sometime you receive a lot of irrelevant information and it is time consuming to screen out the inappropriate or outdated information which I found this is the most disadvantages of these cognitive tools.
